Appointments & Hours

Heartland Women’s Health Care sees patients by appointment.  This helps us to use your time and our time as efficiently as possible.

You may call for an appointment, or your family physician may refer you to Heartland and make the appointment for you.  Appointments may be made between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Thursday and between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Friday by calling 816.452.3300.

If you know that you will be unable to keep your appointment, please cancel no less than 24 hours in advance.  This courtesy enables us to serve other patients in a timely and efficient manner.  We will be happy to schedule a new appointment for you at that time.  A $25 fee is charged for appointments which were not cancelled and you fail to keep.

Our providers at Heartland Women’s Health Care will attempt to honor your appointment time.  We understand that your time is important and recognize the inconvenience of unexpected and prolonged waiting times.  However, in the practice of obstetrics and gynecology, we sometimes have unexpected delays due to deliveries, surgeries, and other emergencies that will affect our best scheduling efforts.  Because we do work as a team, you may be given the opportunity to see one of the other providers in attempt to minimize your inconvenience.

Below is a guide to our office policy regarding appointments:

Acute Problems

We will make every attempt to get you in to see one of our providers that same day. You may be asked  to speak with one of the nurses in order to determine the level of care you will need. (Examples would include an episode of acute bleeding, urinary tract infection, yeast infection or sudden severe pain.)

Non-Acute Problems

This class of visit can usually be accommodated within 72 hours.

Obstetrical Patients

If you are experiencing a problem, one of our nurses will speak with you and arrange for you to be evaluated usually the same day.  The condition itself will determine how quickly you should be seen. Keep in mind should your condition worsen before being seen, you should go to the Emergency Room or to Labor & Delivery.

Walk-In Patients

Visits to the office as a walk-in are discouraged.  We have a schedule that has been created for optimum efficiency for both you and our providers.  Please call ahead for an appointment.  We will try our best to accommodate your needs.
